Campus, Lectures and Events

Currently students are not allowed to enter the university buildings and are asked to avoid the campus completely. All facilities ( Mensae and cafeterias, service points and offices etc.) are closed to the public.

Since March 17, 2020 there will be no classroom lectures. This applies to all offers of the university (courses, lectures, sports activities, consultation hours etc.). The extent to which other forms of teaching can be used is currently being examined.


Written Exams

Today the exam date lists for the exams of the winter semester 2019/2020, which had to be postponed, were published. You can find the dates for the economics degree programmes here.

Students who were registered for the cancelled exams of the winter semester 2019/2020 will be informed additionally via their "" mail address about the further procedure and any special details.

Inspection of examinations

Inspection dates can be offered for the examinations of the first examination period of the winter semester 2019/20, for which no inspection could take place before the beginning of the corona-related restrictions. You can find relevant information on the pages of the respective chairs.



Seminar Papers

The submission of seminar papers is possible by sending them via snail mail to the respective chair or supervisor within the deadline, if a submission on site is not possible.



Students of the Schumpeter School can also hand in their thesis by sending it in due time via snail mail to the Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Prüfungsamt Wirtschaftswissenschaft, Gaußstr. 20, 42119 Wuppertal, Germany, if a submission on site is not possible.

Please note that the formal requirements (according to Information 3/2016 of the Examination Committee) must be observed in any case. In particular:

"The final thesis must be submitted in duplicate. It must have a firm binding (no ring binding). An electronic version of the thesis as well as a single copy of any data material used in an empirical thesis must be attached to the printed version in Word or PDF format for plagiarism checking on a CD or DVD-ROM. The CD or DVD must be labelled and affixed to the thesis; printing houses usually have the appropriate tools for this purpose. Internet sources used must also be saved on the data medium."


Exception: Bachelor Colloquium

Bachelor colloquia at the end of the Bachelor thesis can still be scheduled under certain circumstances. Please contact the respective chair for this.


Announcement of grades

The announcement of grades is still carried out via the WUSEL or StudiLöwe portals, but the posting of lists of grades in the glass cases of the examination office is currently only carried out to a very limited extent. 


International students and exchange students

Foreign students and enrolled exchange students of foreign universities in the summer semester 2020, who have to stay at their respective home countries due to corona protection measures during the lecture period and the examination period in the current semester, can apply for a special examination date in the form of a video examination at the end of the summer semester.



Hardship cases

Please note the information from the examination board NR_02/2020


Students who were registered for examinations in the second examination period of the winter semester 2019/20 and who would have completed their degree immediately if they had passed, can therefore apply for a special oral examination date. This only applies to students who are not continuing their studies at the University of Wuppertal. The application can be made informally to the examination board of the faculty with justification.

Applications and Deadlines

Applications to the Examination Board, in particular an application to extend the time allowed for the completion of a thesis for a valid reason, can still be submitted in the usual way via the Examination Office. The processing is currently ensured, but there may be shorter waiting times.Other applications and master applications will of course continue to be processed. Only consultation hours cannot be offered at present. Please contact the relevant offices by e-mail if you have any questions. Currently valid deadlines remain valid in principle. If you have any queries, please contact the relevant offices.
